Urine Toxicology
Urine toxicology is the process of screening urine to determine the type and relative amount of legal and illegal substances a person has consumed. The test is performed to evaluate patients before receiving medical therapy, patients in substance abuse recovery, patients displaying deviant drug behavior, obstetric patients, and patients using controlled medications. Toxicology tests, or tox screens, can detect a specifically targeted substance or up to 80 substances at once.
Principle Laboratory offers screen and confirmation (quantitative) detection of drugs in Urine or Oral Fluid samples. The test is performed to evaluate patients before receiving medical therapy, patients in substance abuse recovery, patients displaying deviant drug behavior, obstetric patients, patients compliance with prescribed medicine and patients using controlled medications. We offer detection for more than 60 specifically targeted drugs with a 72h TAT.

Oral Fluid Toxicology
Oral fluid toxicology is the process of testing saliva for legal and illegal substances and their metabolites. Oral fluid is excreted from the parotid, submaxillary, and sublingual glands in the mouth. This form of drug screening is the least invasive form of testing. It requires just a simple mouth swab for analysis. Medical professionals prefer to use oral fluid drug testing to evaluate recent drug use in patients.
Fluid is gathered using a collection swab and sent to Principle Laboratory to be evaluated using cutting-edge technology for initial testing. Our methods allow laboratories to detect recent drug use that urine toxicology alone may miss. If a positive result is detected, our laboratory will perform a confirmation screening using more accurate methods.
